To be clear, suicide is something that has happened around me. It’s nothing I’ve ever considered beyond wondering how someone so strong could believe this was a solution to any of life’s problems, which then actually become amplified for survivors. Trust me, I totally understand that a suicidal person becomes hyper-focused in that direction. I’m not here to judge that. I’m here to speak for those of us who are left behind in life on earth while our loved ones free themselves into spirit.
Even though I’m an unwilling student of why someone would willingly kill themselves (and what then happens to them) I’ll admit that living with the consequences of death has led me into decades of deeply esoteric spiritual contemplations.
To explain some of the why, there’s a consensus that we choose the circumstances of our lives for reasons of growth and learning. Some souls may not bring enough spiritual energy and just can’t handle the tasks they intended to accomplish. Maybe ego over-rides soul and takes the body out of continuing.
In any case, the Spiritual Realm gives no punishment for a person’s death; it’s acknowledged that Human life is difficult. Nevertheless, this Free Will choice does create karmic difficulty – a soul is still responsible for what was created.
And part of what’s created is the turmoil left in their absence.
A survivor’s intense feelings often get entangled in a shocking realization that Society harshly judges this kind of death, which doesn’t allow for grieving as needed – compounded by having to deal with things we hadn’t expected, like picking up threads of tasks that weren’t ours to complete, coping with conflicts inadvertently inherited, etc. Quite honestly, being left behind by suicide Sucks at so many levels that are difficult to name, or understand, or even express.
So be easy on yourself – or anyone you know in this situation.
Instead of being mad at cancer or crashes, we deal with being angry at the person who unintentionally set consequences in motion that ripple out chaos and confusion. It’s rough. And it’s not our fault.
